Daniel Reece Obituary

Daniel Lee Reece age 59 of Lordstown OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Danny was born on October 16, 1964, in Louisville, KY, the son of Kenneth B. Reece Sr. and Alma V. (McIver) Reece. He made his mark everywhere and with everyone from that day forward until the day he was blessedly released from his earthly body that had been devastated by MDS/AML (leukemia). Danny gracefully and defiantly fought to the very end until he was reunited with Casey, Kayla, Tucker and Bailey at the Rainbow Bridge.

Danny graduated from Valley High School (1982). He always dreamt of being an aviation structural mechanic so prior to his graduation he early enrolled in the U.S. Navy to do just that. Danny spent 25 years in the Navy PROUDLY serving the country he loved. He would tell you that those were the best years of his life working amongst the best of the best, professionally and personally. Achieving the rank of Senior Chief (AMCS) was one of his proudest lifetime achievements. Following his Navy retirement Danny finished his bachelor’s degree and then graduated from Kent State University with his MBA.

In 1991 in Key West, Danny would meet (for the 2nd time) and marry his perfect match, his soulmate, Robin (Stanley) Reece. Together they lived in four states, finally settling in Ohio after retiring from the Navy. Other than military deployments they were inseparable, enjoying going to games to watch their favorite teams, attending concerts, spending time with family and friends amongst so many other activities they enjoyed. Danny loved cooking and Robin loved eating everything he made for her. Spoiling Robin in every way was really his passion and he excelled at it.

Danny was a life member and former Commander of the Newton Falls Amvets Post # 112, life member of the Newton Falls VFW Post # 3332, a member of the Newton Falls American Legion Post #236, and former president of the Newton Falls Browns Backers. Danny loved all sports, especially his beloved Louisville Cardinals. He cheered hard for the Buckeyes, too. He was a season ticket holder for the Browns and loved the Cowboys since childhood.

Danny is survived by his mother: Alma V. Reece of Louisville, KY, his wife: Robin Reece of Lordstown, 2 sisters: Valerie (Steve) Ritter of Owensboro, KY, Lisa Reece of Louisville, KY, and 1 brother: Kenneth Jr. (Beverly) Reece of Louisville, KY, his mother-in-law Judy Stanley, sister-in-law, Kris Stanley and his Golden Retriever, Finn. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth, his grandparents, and his father-in-law: George Stanley.

The family wishes to thank everyone at UH Seidman Cancer Center, the Warren and Wade Park VA, Affinity Care of Northern Ohio, Amvets Post 112 and Trumbull County Veteran’s Services. Special gratitude to Danny’s anonymous stem cell transplant donor for her selflessness that helped extend his life and gave him a fighting chance.
