Alan Theodore Dieter, Jr. age 64 of Cortland passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday night Sept. 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren, OH. He was born on Feb. 13, 1954 in Youngstown, OH the son of the late Alan Theodore Dieter Sr. and Joann A. (Prassinos) Dieter. Alan graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1972. Then he received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Youngstown State University. He then did his graduate work at The University of Pittsburgh and received his Masters Degree. Alan has lived in Cortland since 2005, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. He is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Austintown, OH. Alan loved reading. He is preceded death by his mother and father.

Memories of Alan will be carried on by his family: 1 brother: Dave & Dee Dieter of Cortland, OH, 1 nephew: Matthew & Mary Lynn Dieter of Hubbard, OH, 1 niece: Alexandra & Collin Donaldson of Pittsburgh, PA.

Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Alan will be laid to rest with his parents at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, OH.
