Allen George Difford, 73 of Windham Twp. entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 23, 2014 at his residence. Allen was born on June 9, 1940 in Mesopotamia, the son of Harold & Mary (Case) Difford. He had formerly been of the Wayland/Diamond area. Allen married the former Edna M. Fenton on July 17, 1971. They were blessed with 33 years of marriage before her passing on March 11, 2005. Allen retired after 20+ years at Falls Steel Tube as a labor worker, and later worked at Crest Rubber in Charlestown. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Loving memories of Allen will be carried on by his daughters, Nancy (Dave) Dunn of Salem, Judy Lynn Nixon of Rome, his sons, Harold Difford of Schuykill Haven, PA, Robert (Renee) Difford of Newton Falls, sisters, Rebecca Potter of Eldorado, KS, Joyce Stafford of Warren, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Allen was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna, sister, Ruth Jerome and brother, Vern Difford. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Allen will be laid to rest next to his wife, Edna at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Twp, OH.
