Ann R. Staunton, age 87 of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Hospice House of Poland. Ann was born on March 13, 1923 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of John & Mary (Zubko) Babbey. She has lived in Newton Falls her entire life. Ann was the co-owner of Boulevard Golden Dawn in Newton Falls from 1954 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Mary & Joseph Church in Newton Falls. She loved to work and enjoyed ballroom dancing, gardening and yardwork. Memories of Ann will be carried on by her loving son & daughter-in-law, Robert (Bob) & Jennifer Staunton of Newton Falls, her brother, Joe Bobbey of Newton Falls and two grandsons, Michael Staunton of Newton Falls who is serving with the US Army 101st Airborne in Afghanistan and Ryan Staunton of Cuyahoga Falls. Ann was preceeded in death by her sister, Sophie Trella. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at James Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 10:30 am at the funeral home and the funeral mass will be at 11:00 am at St. Mary & Joseph Church. Father Mertzweiler will officiate. Ann will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to Hospice House of Poland, 9803 Sharrot Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
