Barbara Claire Smith, age 74 of Diamond, OH passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She was born on October 16, 1939 in Jefferson, PA the daughter of the late Clare Pierce and Dorothy (Hice) Pierce. Barbara married the love of her life, Howard R. Smith on Aug. 29, 1959 and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage together until he passed away on Dec. 8, 2013. Barbara worked at JcPenny's in Austintown as a Supervisor of the Catalog Dept. for 34 years retiring in 1999. She was a resident of Diamond, OH for 41 years and formerly of Brookfield, OH. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and watching NASCAR on Television. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, and 1 grandson Matthew Thomas Datish. She is survived by: 1 daughter: Pamela & Paul Bondy of Lordstown, OH, 1 son: Greg A. Smith of Diamond, OH, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Per Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Howard at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, OH.
