Obituary

Bernice Vivian Bell age 94 formerly of Lordstown passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday July 9, 2011 at Community Skilled Nursing Home in Warren. Bernice was born on September 9, 1916 in McKeesport, PA the daughter of the late James Thomas Hobby & Ethel Sarah (Taylor) Hobby. Bernice graduated from McKeesport High School on the morning of June 4, 1935 and later that afternoon married the love of her life, Victor A. Bell Sr. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage together before he passed away on August 15, 1997. Bernice was a member of the Northeast Christian Church and Surfside Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was the director of the Vacation Bible School. She loved singing in the choir and being part of a group of people that started three new churches. Bernice also enjoyed cooking, knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Memories of Bernice will be carried on by her loving family; her sons & daughter-in-laws Victor & Eva Bell of Lordstown, Kenneth & Patricia Bell of Boulder City, NV; her granddaughters Victoria & (Mark) Rock, Laurie &( Robert )Crowder, & Lindsey Bell; her grandsons Scott Bell & Randy Bell, and 7 great grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and a half sister Charlotte Lape. The family requests that all donations be made to the Northeast Christian Church 865 Perkins -Jones Road NE Warren, Ohio 44483. Bernice's family will receive friends on Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 3:00- 5:00 pm at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will immediately follow at 5:00 pm. The Rev. Len Derico will be officiating the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Victor at Lordstown Cemetery.
