Bertha Evans Schrader age 87, of Southington passed into eternal life at 8:50 AM Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Hospice House of Poland after a long battle with cancer. On April 22, 1923 in Clarington, OH Thomas I. & Lucy E. (Berkhart) McDougal were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Bertha. She moved to Warren at a young age, met and married Vernon Evans. They were married 38 years before Vernon passed away in 1984. She then met and married Robert Schrader and lived together in Southington. They were married 14 years before Robert passed away in 2001. She enjoyed reading and watching TV. Memories of Bertha will be carried on by her loving family, her daughter & son-in-law Ruth & John Barrett of Braceville; her sisters Clara Bauer of Woodsfield, Freda McCaslin of Langs; her grandchildren and their spouses Jeff and Bobbie Barrett, Scott & Christina Mansfield; and her great-grandchildren Shelby Mansfield & Andrew Barrett. Bertha is preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters Lucille Loew, Vera Ward, six brothers Howard, George, Tom, Bern, Arnold, Paul McDougal, two infant brothers, and one grandson John Daniel Barrett. Funeral Services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls at 12:00PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2010; with calling hours two hours prior to service time from 10:00AM-12:00PM.
