Bessie Mae Cottle age 88 of Newton Falls, formerly of Braceville passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday May 30, 2015. Bessie was born on May 16, 1927 in Weirton, WV the daughter of Walter and Oma (Wright) Dalrymple. She graduated from Braceville High School in 1945. She married her sweetheart Jesse Cottle on July 12, 1946, and enjoyed 60 years together before his death in 2006. Bessie and Jesse were active members of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and spent many hours volunteering together as Friends of the Newton Falls Public Library. They were members of the Braceville and Newton Falls Senior Citizens. Bessie was a member of the Braceville Christian Church for 57 years. Through the years she had served as a deaconess and teacher of the nursery school class, and was a member of the Rose of Sharon class and Joy Fellowship. Bessie made quilts for her family and, for many years, presented a quilt to each new baby in her church. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans and embroidering samplers, always as gifts for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, her brothers, Herbert Dalrymple and Walter Dalrymple Jr. Memories of Bessie will be carried on by her children: Jesse "Jay" Cottle and his wife Janet of the Villages, FL, Victoria Kapral and her husband Sergei of Plains, PA, Joseph Cottle and his wife Theresa of Braceville, and Susan Testa and her husband Gary of Boardman, her sister Leah Lockhart of Southington, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday June 2, 2015 from 5:30- 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be at the Braceville Christian Church on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at 11:00am with Rev. Jon Pratt officiating the service. Bessie will then be laid to rest beside her husband Jesse at Braceville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions take the form of donations to the Braceville Christian Church Building Fund 4387 Church St. SW Newton Falls, OH 44444 in memory of Bessie M.
