Betty Jane Fickes age 83 of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday Feb. 18, 2026 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren. She was born on April 30, 1942 in Warren, OH the daughter of the late Warren Thomas Barnes and Nora Belle (Tift) Barnes. Betty married her first husband Harold Eastman Jr. on Nov. 30. 1957 and they enjoyed 37 years of marriage together until he passed away on March 12, 1994. Then she married her second husband William Wade Fickes on March 5, 2011 and he survives. She has lived in Leavittsburg her whole life, and graduated from Leavittsburg High School in the Class of 1960. Betty worked for Packard Electric for 30 years as an Artist Cutter and retired in 1990. She enjoyed roller skating, drag racing, and most of all she loved being a mother and raising her 4 children. Betty is preceded in death by: her parents, first husband: Harold Eastman Jr., 2 brothers: James & Royal Barnes, and 1 grandson: Richard Lee Eastman Jr.
She is survived by: her husband: William W. Fickes of Warren, 2 daughters: Penny & Bruce Lambe of Warren, Kimberlee & Don Earl of Warren, 2 sons: Harold & Linda Eastman III of Leavittsburg, Richard & Mary Eastman of Leavittsburg, 1 step daughter: Sherry & Brian Alfred of Braceville, 2 step sons: Mark Fickes of Newton Falls, Jeff & Robin Fickes of Rock Hill, SC, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Monday Feb 23, 2026 at 1:00pm with Rev. Jennifer Dorn officiating. Calling hours will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Pine Knoll Cemetery in Warren Twp, OH.
The family has requested that all donations please be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 in her memory.
