Betty Jean Harkless, 93 of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her residence. Betty was born on March 6, 1921 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of Floyd & Ruth (Knight) Barnhouse. Betty married Thomas A. Harkless on November 10, 1938. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage before his passing on May 10, 1991. Betty was a member of the Newton Falls Church of the Nazarene. Loving memories of Betty will be carried on by her daughters, Betty (Robert) Bumbaugh of Haydon, ID, Ruth (Gordon) Hainey of Bullhead, AZ, sons, Thomas Harkless of Newton Falls, Robert Harkless of Newton Falls, 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren. Betty was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas, daughter, Joyce Maxwell, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, and great granddaughter, Melissa Turner. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas at Newton Falls Cemetery.
