Betty Jean Holt, age 92, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls. She was born on May 3, 1922 in East Palestine, OH the daughter of the late Louis Dennis and Mabel (Ford) Dennis. Betty married the love of her life, Robert D. Holt on July 25, 1942 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his death on February 11, 1992. She has lived in Newton Falls since 1960, formerly of East Palestine. Betty worked as a Seamstress at the Newton Falls Cleaners for many years. She also was a member for the Blue Star Mothers in Newton Falls. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Dennis Holt, 1 brother: James Dennis, and 1 grandson: Christopher Holt. She is survived by: 1 son: Thomas V. Holt of Warren, OH,, 1 grandson:, Mark & Laura Holt of El Paso, TX, 1 great grandson: Kyle Holt of El Paso, TX, and 1 great granddaughter: Emily Holt of El Paso, TX. Funeral Services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014 at 11:00am where calling hours will be held one hour prior to service time from 10:00- 11:00am with Pastor Tom Snyder officiating the service. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband Robert at Newton Falls Cemetery.
