NEWTON FALLS: Betty L. Martin 88 passed away Saturday May 26, 2012 at her daughters home surrounded and comforted by her loving family as she entered into eternal rest after a long illness. Betty was born August 19, 1923 in Newton Township, OH. She was the first of four daughters of Clyde and Helen (Besse) Williams. She has lived in the Newton Falls area all her life . Betty was a clerk typist at March Field Air Base during WWII and upon returning home she worked at the War Assets Administration and the Ravenna Arsenal. She was a leader for the Camp Fire Girls for 10 years serving as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. For her contributions and outstanding service with our community's youth she was awarded the Charlotte Joy Farnsworth Award. She was a life member of Pricetown United Methodist Church, and the Leading Star Chapter #79. She enjoyed knitting, golf, gardening, playing cards, and sitting at her front window watching the many people who would pass by. She will be deeply missed by her two loving daughters and their husbands: Mary Margaret "Margi" and Chuck Paukovich of Champion, Michele Marie "Micki" and Doug Capan of Newton Falls. Three sisters Mary Jane Lay and Ruth Shambach both of Newton Falls and Dorothy Carson of Vienna. Her five grandchildren Kristopher and Charleighh Paukovich Wildman, Kacey Paukovich, Cody, Chace, and Colt Capan. And many others who's lives she has touched. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband whom she married Dec 30, 1943 at March Field Air Base, California. He passed away August 9, 2008. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed with Eastern Star services immediately at 1:00 PM and funeral services with Pastor Terry Siverd officiating. She will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna beside her husband Dale. The Family ask that contributions take the form of donations to the Pricetown United Methodist Church 4660 Prichard-Ohltown Rd (County Line Rd.) Newton Falls, OH 44444.
