Beverly Jeanne (Henning) Rasey, age 78 of Southington passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday Feb. 21, 2012 at St. Joseph's Eastland Hospital due to a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 7, 1934 in Canton, OH. She was raised by Myron R. Shearer and her mother Margaret H. (Ackelson) Shearer. She has lived in Southington since 1979, formerly of the Newton Falls, Braceville and Paris Twp. areas. Beverly married John Kennedy Rasey on August 29, 1979 and they have been blessed with 32 years of marriage together. Beverly was a former secretary at Venture Plastics in Newton Falls and then she worked in purchasing for St. Joseph Hospital/ Humility of Mary Health System for many years until her retirement in 2006. She attended Braceville Christian Church. Beverly enjoyed working in her yard enjoying the butterflies, flowers, and birds, watching her grandson's play football and racing dirt race cars, bowling, Nascar, but her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren. Loving memories of Beverly will be carried on by her husband, John K. Rasey of Southington, 3 daughters, Peggy (Paul) Edenburn of Newton Falls, Laura McCollum Henning of Lake Milton, Melissa (Victor) Hamrick of Kent, step-daughters, Jill Ochwat of Greenville, Pa and Jacqueline Rasey of Tallmadge and her step-sons, John (Diane) Rasey Jr. of Angier, NC, Jeffrey (Nancy) Rasey of Cartersville, Ga, and James (Sonya) Rasey of Champion, 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, Debra Montagna, Vanessa Henning and her son, Mark (Teresa) Henning. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Feb. 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Rasey officiating. Beverly will be laid to rest at Graham Cemetery in Southington.
