Obituary

Heaven gained another angel on Sunday, March 26, 2023, as Bonnie Jean Heinzl, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children. Bonnie was born in Monroe, MI on March 17, 1939, to the late Scott R. Wilson and Clara L. (Ellerman) Wilson.  She lived in Newton Falls and Windham throughout her life, working as a daycare provider, insurance agent, and special education aid. Bonnie was an extremely active member of The First Congregational Church of Newton Falls, and spent many years as a church deaconess as well as the church secretary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, baking, yard sale-ing, and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians. Most importantly, Bonnie was a wonderful mother and spent many years at home raising her five children. Like most grandmothers, her greatest joy (perhaps moreso than her own children) in life were her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She bestowed many of life's important skills upon her kids and grandkids, including the art of price haggling at a garage sale and how to make the perfect pie crust.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gerald Wilson and Thomas Wilson, and son, David Fleming. She is survived by her daughters Anna (David) Dempsey of Newton Falls, Jacqueline Heinzl of South Euclid, and Alma (Philip) Snyder of Columbus, her son Michael (Tina) Wilson of North Ridgeville, her brothers Willis Wilson and Scott (Kathy) Wilson Jr., her 11 grandchildren William, Jenna, Bethany, Michael, Samantha, Andrew, Rebecca, Melissa, Molly, Daisy, and David, her 7 great-grandchildren Ethan, Hailey, Brian, Mason, William, Rowan, and Benjamin, and her 2 great-great-grandchildren Malikai and Ezekiel. She will be sadly missed by many of her friends including a very close friend Brent Weekley.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in the Newton Falls on Friday March 31, 2023 at 11:00am with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating.   Calling hours will be on Thursday March 30, 2023 from 5:00- 7:00pm at the funeral home.
