Obituary

Warren, Ohio– Brian Allen Carpenter, age 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.

Born on Halloween in 1968 in Philippi, West Virginia, to the late Joseph V. Carpenter and Goldie E. Carpenter, Brian carried an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold throughout his life. A proud graduate of Philip Barbour High School, Brian relocated to Ohio where he became a fixture in his community. He was widely respected for his tireless work ethic and his genuine commitment to helping those around him.

Brian was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest peace in the quiet of nature. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and spent years meticulously building a collection of baseball cards. He stayed closely connected to his community through local news and was always the first to offer a helping hand—whether it was a complex task for a neighbor or babysitting his beloved great-nieces and nephews. Above all, Brian was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter to any room.

Brian’s legacy of kindness lives on through his son, Christian Joseph Allen. He is also survived by his siblings: Willie and Sharon Wendell and Timothy and Rev. Lisa Helmick, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who adored him.

He now joins those who went before him, including his parents Joseph V. Carpenter and Goldie E. Carpenter and his three brothers, David L. Helmick Sr, Lewis V. Carpenter, and Kevin Carpenter.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held to honor his memory and the impact he made on all who knew him on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 6:00PM at Central Baptist Church 1301 North Rd SE, Niles, OH 44446
