Buford Nelson, age 74, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on March 14, 2010 with his family by his side. Buford was born on April 17, 1935 in Lucasville, Ohio, the son of the late John and Carrie Campbell Nelson. He grew up in Lucasville and moved to Paris Twp. in 1978. On September 17, 1955 he married his sweetheart Wilma Silcott. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from the City of Ravenna January 1, 2001. Buford played guitar and sang gospel music with his wife and John Dunbar for the past 40 years as the Singing Nelsons. He was a member of the Lake Milton Baptist Temple. Buford is survived by his wife Wilma Nelson of Paris Twp., his daughter and son- in- law Kara and Ian Suzelis of Paris Twp., son and daughter- in- law Terrence and Margaret Nelson of Hartford Mi., son Derrick Nelson of Freedom Twp., Ohio, son and daughter- in- law David and Jamie Nelson of Akron, Ohio. Brother Richard Nelson and brother and sister- in- law Art and Carolyn Nelson of Lucasville, Ohio. grandaughters Abagail Moore, Suzanna Nelson and Ina Suzelis, grandson Koen Suzelis and great grandson Uriah Moore. Mr Nelson was preceeded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
