Carol Louise Casterline, age 71 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on August 1, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. She was born on November 15, 1942 in Youngstown, OH the daughter of the late Frank Joseph Gerback and Betty Ellen (Pinter) Gerback. Carol married Melvin A. Casterline on July 30, 1992 and they enjoyed 5 years of marriage together before he passed away on June 10, 1997. She has lived in Newton Falls and Warren for many years, formerly of North Jackson, OH. Carol was employed at the Diary Queen in Newton Falls and Lordstown. She also worked at Sajar Plastics. Carol enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Ricky Lawrence and her husband: Melvin Casterline. She is survived by: 2 daughters: Vicki Brumbaugh of Cookeville, TN, Kristine & Dan Zigler of Newton Falls, 1 sister: Nancy & Bruce Fraser of Devils Elbow, MO, 1 brother: David & Wanda Gerback of Austintown, OH, 2 grandchildren: Vanessa McKelvey & Kyle Spicer of Deerfield, OH, Angela Miller of Newton Falls, 3 great grandchildren: Derek, Hayley, Cami. Per Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00PM. A memorial services will immediately follow at 6:00PM. She will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery beside her son Rick.
