Cathy D. (Evans) Smith, age 52 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after suffering a stroke last December. Cathy was born in Ravenna on February 26, 1958 the daughter of Lester & Sarah (McCray) Evans whom are both deceased. She has lived in Newton Falls her entire life. Cathy married Gregory A. Smith on December 22, 1995 and they have been married a wonderful 14 years. Cathy attended the Church of the Nazarene in Windham. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her pets and spending time by her pool. Memories of Cathy will be carried on by her husband, Gregory Smith of Newton Falls, daughters, Melanie Hinkle and her husband Tim of Leavittsburg, Crystal Sutton and her fiance, Doyle Tibbs of Newton Falls, stepdaughter, Ashley Smith of North Benton, son, David Sutton of Sherman, TX, step-son, Brandon Smith and his fiance, Jackie of Alliance, sister, Colleen Watts of Newton Falls, brother, Kenneth Evans and his wife, Sue of Newton Falls, and 10 grandchildren. Cathy is preceeded in death by her sister, Karen Pence. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm at James Funeral Home where the service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm. Pastor David Arnott will be officiating. Cathy will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to James Funeral Home, 8 East Broad Street, Newton Falls, OH 44444.
