Charles E. (Chuck) Grandon, age 54 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully on Sunday July 4, 2010 in Crestline, OH while returning from vacation with his wife after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. Chuck was born in Warren on December 31, 1955, the son of C. Baxter & Ruth D. (Harvey) Grandon. He has lived in Newton Falls since 1989, formerly of Bristolville. Chuck married the former Myra J. Pelo on October 4, 1980. They have been married for 29 years. Chuck was a truck driver with Penske Logistics for 14 years and then with Estes Express Lines for the past 5 years. He was a life long member of the Champion Church of the Nazarene. Chuck was an avid bowler and was president, secretary and treasurer of many leagues throughout the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, watching Nascar and the Cleveland Browns. Memories of Chuck will be carried on by his loving wife, Myra Grandon of Newton Falls, daughters, Cassandra E. Grandon of Warren, Sarina J. Grandon of Newton Falls, Naomi R. Grandon of Newton Falls, son & daughter-in-law, Johnathon E. & Sarah Grandon of West Farmington, sisters, Connie Young of Warren, Laura Grandon of Warren, brothers, Phil Grandon of Warren, Howard Grandon of Cleveland, Vince Grandon of Ronan, MT and two grandsons, Joshua & Steven Grandon. Chuck was preceeded in death by his father, Charles Baxter Grandon who passed away in 1998 and his mother, Ruth D. Grandon who passed away in 1985. Calling hours will be held on Saturday July 10, 2010 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at James Funeral Home where the service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Gene Eason will be officiating. Cremation will follow. The family requests that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512-2198.
