Charles H. Culp, age 86 of Cortland passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday June 3, 2024 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren.  He was born on Dec. 27, 1937 in Leavittsburg, OH the son of the late Dallas E. Culp and Mabel Marie (McClain) Culp.  He served his country faithfully in the US Army from 1956- 1959. After returning from duty, Charles married the love of his life Patricia Elizabeth Greenawalt on Jan 16, 1960 and they have enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. Charles & Patricia have live in Cortland since 2005, formerly of Leavittsburg, Southington, and Andover. He worked for East Ohio Gas for 34 years retiring in 1994.  He is a member of the Delightful Evangelical Congregational Church in Southington, OH.  Charles is also a member of the Moose Lodge # 1012 in Mecca.  He loved cutting his grass, doing outside lawn work, and camping.  Charles is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers  David Culp, William E. Culp & Dallas V. Culp, and 1 sister Jaime Kihn.

He is survived by:  his wife: Patricia E. Culp of Chardon, OH, 2 daughters: Cynthia & Allen Herner of Chardon, OH Wendette & Martin Tietz of Southington, 1 son: Jason & Jennifer Culp of Butler, PA, 1 brother Dennis Culp, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls.  A funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00AM with Pastor Joan Purnell officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Twp. OH. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Animal Welfare League 812 Youngstown-Kingsville Rd. SE Vienna, OH 44473 in memory of Charles H. Culp.
