Charles Harris, age 72 of Newton Falls passed into eternal life on Sunday, October 3, 2011 at Imperial Nursing Home. Charles was born on March 1, 1939 in Chesapeake, WV the son of Offie Gay & Thelma I. (Woolard) Harris. Charles lived in Newton Falls formerly of Ravenna. He worked as a Tool & Die Setter at Chrysler Automotive in Twinsburg for 35 years before retiring in 1997. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from September 24, 1957 until September 23, 1963. He was a member of Amvets in Newton Falls, Army & Navy, American Legion & the VFW. Charles enjoyed camping, fishing and was a Civil War buff. Loving memories of Charles will be carried on by his sister, Helen Shirey of Newton Falls, two grandsons, Jonathan Prosser and Christopher McDonald, his dear friend, Betty Harris of Lordstown and several nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers Darrell & Robert Harris and his daughter Donna McDonald. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at James Funeral Home where funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
