Charles Kezele, age 87 of Winchester, KY passed into eternal life on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 of natural causes at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. On July 18, 1924 in Newton Falls, Ohio Frank J. & Rose (Gerchar) Kezele were blessed with the birth of their son, Charles. Charles married the love of his life, Elizabeth D. Behun on August 2, 1945 and they enjoyed 57 years of blessed marriage together before she passed away on January 4, 2003. Charles worked as a maintenance Supervisor for Rockwell International for 34 years before retiring in 1980. He then became co-owner with his son Larry Kezele of The Ruth Hunt Candy Company in Mt. Sterling, KY where he worked until his death. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, UK basketball and gathering with family and friends. Memories of Charles will be carried on by his loving family; his son Larry of Lexington, KY, daughters Carol (Jeffrey) Rigby of Cortland, OH, Joyce (Bill) Chew of Mason, OH, Deborah (Michael) Haaker of Georgetown, KY; and son Donald (Vickie) Kezele of Hebron, KY; his seven grandchildren Brian, Kristen, Kevin Rigby; Shannon, Stacy, Skylar Chew, Camron Kezele, two great-grandchildren Madison and Charlie Rigby and his dear friend Juanita. Seven brothers and sisters preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held in Mt. Sterling, KY on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Gateway Regional Arts Center - 101 East Main Street in the Performance Hall; gathering at 6:00 pm with the service officially beginning at 6:30 PM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 4 to 6 PM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, OH. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary and St. Joseph's Church in Newton Falls, OH. Charles will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty, in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by James Funeral Home, 8 East Broad Street, Newton Falls, Ohio (330) 872-5440.
