Charles "Skip" Walter McWilliams, age 67, of Leavittsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side, after a 3 year battle with brain cancer.
On July 15, 1951, in Warren, Ohio, Charles Walter & Charlotte Ida (Holinbaugh) McWilliams Sr. were blessed with the birth of their son, Charles.
Skip married the love of his life, Barbara L. Gauntt on November 18, 1972 and they were blessed with 46 years of marriage together.
Skip had lived in Leavittsburg since 1999 formerly of Newton Falls. He was a Motor Tester at Peerless Winsmith for 41 years before retiring in July of 2013.
He was a member of the Life Church of God in Leavittsburg, an avid golfer, a coach for Little League Baseball in Newton Falls for 12 years and a coach for soccer in Newton Falls for 12 years. Skip enjoyed attending family sports, watching all Cleveland sports, and eating steak.
Memories of Skip will be carried on by his loving family, his wife Barbara of Leavittsburg; his 4 sons Matthew A. & (Melissa) McWilliams of Leavittsburg, Paul R. & (Heather) McWilliams of Portsmouth, Stephen S. &( Kimberly) McWilliams of Newton Falls, Daniel S. & (Whitney) McWilliams of Morgantown, WV; his 3 sisters Carol Kohler of Clermont,FL, Sherrie Key of Columbus, Connie & (Tom) McClure of Springfield, and his 8 grandchildren Stephen, Michelle, Matthew, Noah, Landon, Layla, McKinley, Haven.
Skip is preceeded in death by his parents, 1 sister Carla Rae McWilliams, and 1 granddaughter Hazel Love McWilliams.
Per Skip's wishes cremation has taken place. Calling Hours will be held at the Life Church of God in Leavittsburg on December 2, 2018 from 2 to 4PM, where a Memorial Service will follow at 4PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Life Church of Leavittsburg.
