Obituary

Clarence R. (Buck) Glendenning, age 91 of Southington passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday April 6, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.  He was born on November 18, 1931 in Philippi, WV, the son of the late Frank M. Glendenning & Goldie L. (McDildey) Glendenning.  Buck married the love of his life, Betty J. Bennett on October 7, 1972 and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together until she passed away on Sept. 1, 2014.  He lived in Newton Falls, OH  formerly of Southington, OH for 44 years.  Buck worked in shipping and was a Truck Driver for ITT Grinnell for 30 years before retiring in 1985.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, was a member of the Southington Christian Church, and a member of the UAW Local #396 Plumbers and Pipefitters.He also served the residents of Southington as an Engineer on Southington Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, watching country music shows, playing bingo and loved his dogs.

He is survived by: his daughters: Teresa (Grayling) Babcock of Southington, Judy (Companion - Jim) Hall of Southington; his step-daughters; Vanessa Wilson of Liberty Township, OH, Cynthia Wilson of Lordstown, Kimberly (Lou) Gomez of Boardman Township. His sons, Richard "Rich" (Christa) Glendenning of Garrettsville, James "Jimmy" Glendenning of Kent; stepsons, Curtis "Jay" (Pat) Wilson of Chanute, KS, James A. Wilson of Lordstown. Two sisters; Opal Workman of Philippi, WV and Elsie (Carson) Cottrell of Bridgeport, WV; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Buck was preceded in death my his parents, a brother; Honest Glendenning and a sister, Wilda "Woody" Delauder.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 6:00- 9:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at James Funeral Home with Pastor Jennifer Dorn officiating. Buck will then be laid to rest at Graham Cemetery in Southington next to his wife Betty.
