Dale Anthony Furlong, 89 of Southington entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Dale was born on September 11, 1925 in New Castle, PA, the son of the late Otha & Grace (Anthony) Furlong. He has lived in Southington since 1972, formerly of Warren. Dale was a US AirForce veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was an electrician by trade working for 40 years at Copperweld. He was also known for installing carpet. On June 11, 1948 Dale married the former Ethel Mae Grossart. Dale and Ethel were blessed with 47 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on July 10, 1995. Dale was a member of the VFW in Southington. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and he was an avid trap shooter. Loving memories of Dale will be carried on by his daughter, Kimberly Furlong of Warren, sons, Bruce Furlong of Southington, Gregory Furlong of Southington, Mark (Lori) Furlong of Liberty, sister, Beverly Flamino, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Dale was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Ethel, sisters, Viola Black, Marian Marietta, brothers, Keith Miller, Bill and Merlin Furlong and his grandson, Jayson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at James Funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
