Daniel E. Balzer, age 58, formerly of Braceville passed away peacefully at his home in Newton Falls on Sunday Dec. 11, 2011 at 8:20 am. Dan was born on April 26, 1953 in Warren, OH the son of the late Kenneth Albert Balzer and Mabel Agnes (Russell) Balzer. He married the love of his life, Linda Darlene Carpenter on Aug 19, 1979 and they have enjoyed 32 years of marriage together. Dan has lived all of his life in Braceville and just recently moved to Newton Falls. He worked as a Mechanic for Excel Polymer in Burton. He was a jack of all trades, and could fix anything. Anyone could call him and he would be there to help at anytime day or night. Dan attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Windham and was an avid hunter, a 10 year volunteer firefighter for the Windham Twp. Fire Department, and traveling to California. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Stephen H. Balzer, 1 daughter Faith Ann Balzer. Balzer of Newton Falls, 2 sons: Adam Balzer of Newton Falls, Rob & Amy McPherson of Canton, OH 4 sisters: Sharyn McCurdy of Warren, Frances & Tom Strock of Southington, OH, Doris Ferraro of Streetsboro, OH, Pearl & Scott Stepp of Braceville, 2 brothers: William & Betty Balzer of Braceville Ted Balzer and his fiance' Lynn Oblinger of Newton Falls, 5 grandchildren: Alyssa Bell , Amy Balzer, D.J. Balzer, Helen & Hannah McPherson Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday Dec. 14, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 pm. Rev. Rod Edwards will be officiating the service. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
