David Ronald Ratell Sr., 81 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Health Center. David was born on October 14, 1932 in Warren, the son of Joseph Edward & Anna (Frohlich) Ratell. David has lived in Newton Falls for 31 years, formerly of Warren. David married the former Joyce E. Hedglin on November 13, 1991. They were blessed with 19 years of marriage before her passing on November 11, 2011. David was employed for 32 years with General Motors Assembly in Lordstown. He was a member of the U.A.W. 1112 where he was their insurance representative. David was also past president of the Newton Falls Optimist Club and a member of the Newton Falls Amvets Post 112. David enjoyed woodworking, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Loving memories of David will be carried on by his daughters, Elizabeth Jones of Lordstown, Lori Ratell & companion, Ken Timko of Lordstown, sons, Joseph (Teresa) Ratell of Lordstown, David (Gaylynn) Ratell of Escondido, CA, Ronald (Denise) Ratell of Asheville, NC, step-daughters, Michelle Ratell, Margie (Ralph) Johnson, Connie (George) Birch, step-son, George Ratell, sisters, Gertrude (Duane) Granger of Warren, JoAnn Erickson of Warren, June Porta of Warren, his twin sister, Donna Baleny of Parma, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. David was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, daughter, Deborah Ratell, sisters, Evelyn Humphrey, Lillian Haughton, and brother, Joseph Ratell. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at James Funeral Home where the funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm.
