Donald E. (Skip) McCleary Jr. , age 70 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest at his residence on Monday July 26, 2010. Donald was born in Youngstown on June 14, 1940, the son of Donald E. & Margaret L. (O'Conner) McCleary Sr. Skip has lived in Newton Falls for the past 18 years formerly of Windham. Skip married the former Debra Marie Halan on December 30, 1999. They have been blessed to have been married for the past 10 years. Skip retired in July 2000 after 30 years as an assembler in the paint department at General Motors. He was a member of St. Michael's Church in Windham and a member and color guard for the American Legion in Windham and the V.F.W. in Newton Falls. Skip enjoyed people, trains, gambling, playing the lottery, cooking and feeding everyone but most of all his family. Memories of Skip will be carried on by his wife, Debra McCleary of Newton Falls, daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie & Bryan Lantz of Windham, Tricia & Darrin Fincham of Windham, Jennifer & Richard Chaney of Braceville, Melissa & Eddie Valencia of Riverside, CA, sons & daughter-in-law, Ronald & Glenda McCleary of Newton Falls, Brian McCleary of Leavittsburg, William Rauscher of North Royalton, brother & sister-in-law, Thomas & Elaine McCleary of Cortland, seventeen grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Renee Ziska and his brother, James McCleary, mother, Margaret & father, Donald Sr. Calling hours will be held Friday July 30, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home where the funeral service will immediately follow at 8:00 pm.
