Dorcas Oda Cross, age 99, formerly of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Senior Care Center Nursing Home in Wichita Falls, TX. She was born on January 3, 1913 in Una, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John and Idabelle Clara (Moore) Yoho. She married the love of her life Everett Edward Cross in November 1933 and he passed away September 25, 1979. Dorcas has lived in Wichita Falls, TX for 30 years, formerly of Newton Falls. She worked at the Ravenna Arsenal in 1943 and then worked in the housekeeping department at Colvin's Nursing Home and St. Joseph Hospital. Dorcas was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton Falls. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and flowers. Loving memories of Dorcas will be carried on by her only son, Eldon Leon Cross of Wichita Falls, TX, her brother, Virgil and Pearl Yoho of New Martinsville, WV, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Dorcas was preceded in death by her husband, and 2 sisters, Opal LeMasters and Onea Wood and 5 brothers, Virle, Ike, Jim, Pat and Colonel Yoho. Graveside services will be held at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Twp. on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 11:00 am where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Everett.
