Her wishes came true, she is with Kenneth again. Doris May Fenstermaker, age 96 of Braceville passed into eternal life on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:30 pm at Laurie Ann Nursing Home of natural causes. On May 24, 1915 in Warren, William Edward & Minnie Evelyn (Henderson) Middlestead welcomed the birth of their daughter, Doris. Doris married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Fenstermaker, Sr. on June 2, 1936 and they enjoyed 65 years of blessed marriage before he passed away on June 6, 2001. Living in Braceville since 1936, Doris worked as a secretary for Fenstermaker Oil Company for 44 years before retiring in 1980. As a housewife, Doris was a loving wife and mother, providing a wonderful home life for her family. Doris greatly enjoyed doing crafts and sewing, crossword puzzles and vacationing at their cottage in Canada. She was a member of the Second Christian Church in Warren, where she was a Deaconess; and belonged to the CWF and Church Christian Builders Class. She was also a member of Jolly Few, Braceville and Southington Card Clubs; was a leader in 4H and Girl Scouts, which she received a special award in Girl Scouts; was a member in Farm Bureau Council, Braceville Grange, the Republican Party Committee, and worked election board for many years. Those that will lovingly remember Doris are her daughter Joan B. Garland (Edward) of Braceville; her daughter-in-law, ILa (Peterson) Fenstermaker of Braceville; her 7 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Arlene Hartman. Preceding Doris were her parents,her husband, her son Kenneth, Jr. (Bub); two sisters, Gertrude Grimsley, Florence Middlestead; and her brothers, Charles Middlestead and Robert Middlestead. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband, Kenneth in Braceville Cemetery. The family requests that contributions may be made to Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, 980 Warren Ave., Weathersfield, OH 44437.
