Dorothy Lou Durig, age 81 of Lake Milton passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, OH. She was born on May 21, 1935 in Lake Milton, OH the daughter of the late Norman E. Mick and Marie Anna (Harrison) Mick. Dorothy married Charles M. Durig on May 21, 1955 and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together until he passed away on Nov. 7, 1996. She lived her entire life in Lake Milton as a housewife and raised 4 wonderful children. Dorothy loved all animals, especially walking the dogs for exercise, feeding the cats, reading the newspaper, and loved going to the granddaughter (Shauna) volleyball games. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles (Max) Durig, and 1 brother: Dean Mick. She is survived by: 4 sons: Douglas Durig of Lake Milton, Charles & Karen Durig of Streetsboro, OH, Scott & Sharon Durig of Berlin Center, OH, Mark & Katie Durig of Fincastle, VA, 8 grandchildren: Seth, Claire, Tyler, Nikki, Cameron, Caleb, Shauna and Brandon, and 3 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Cody, and Nevaeh, and 2 nephews: Larry & Leon Mick. Per Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday Jan 6, 2017 at 6:00pm. The family will receive friends for calling hours from 4:00- 6:00pm. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband Max at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
