Dorothy J. (Fihn) Huzvar, 94 of Palmyra Twp. passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Community Skilled Nursing in Warren. Dorothy was born on December 14, 1919 in Akron, OH the daughter of the late Joseph F. Fihn & Regina (Gimble) Fihn. She had lived in the Palmyra and Diamond area since 1952 formerly of Newton Falls. Dorothy married the love of her life, George Huzvar on February 7, 1948. George and Dorothy were blessed with 55 years of marriage before his passing on August 4, 2003. Dorothy was a wonderful housewife. She loved sewing, crocheting, cooking , baking, and especially spending time with her family. Dorothy was a member of the Lakeview Assembly of God, and also she has been attending the First Church of God in Warren for the last couple of years. Loving memories of Dorothy will be carried on by her nieces & their husbands: Sandra & Thomas Van Dyke of Warren, RoseMary & Bob Woolard of Leavittsburg, Regina & Jim Kline of Warren, her nephew & his wife: Paul & Cindy Fihn of Leavittsburg, 3 great nephews, 4 great nieces, 10 great-great nieces and 4 great-great nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: George, her brother: Paul Fihn and her sister, Margaret Dengler. Funeral Services will be held at the First Church of God 1951 Parkman Rd. NW Warren, OH 44485 on Thursday Sept. 18, 2014 at 6:00pm with calling hours one hour prior to service time from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Pastor Jack Ruble will be officiating the service. Cremation will follow the funeral service. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512-2198 in memory of Dorothy Huzvar.
