Obituary

Dorothy C. Gumino, age 87, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday Nov. 25, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Dorothy was born on April 26, 1924 in Wheatland, PA the daughter of the late Stephen & Catherine (Girsh) Teutsch. She had lived in Newton Falls most of her life, and she worked as a tow motor driver for Packard Electric in Warren for 32 years before retiring in 1992. Dorothy was affectionately known as "Grandma" there. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat Society (Scarlett Bonnets) in Newton Falls and the VFW in Florida. She collected all types of Shirley Temple memorabilia including dolls and plates. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, and playing cards, especially Skipbo and Gin. In her younger years she loved roller skating from Newton Falls all the way to Lake Milton. Memories of Dorothy will be carried on by her loving family; her daughters Cheryl & Mark Waldorf of Newton Falls, Teresa Gumino of Greensville, SC; her sons Tony & Mildred Gumino of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Carmen & Debbie Gumino of Lake Milton; her sisters Catherine Stroup of Newton Falls, Alice Nalbach of Warren; her brothers Harry & Shirley Teutsch of Campbell, CA, John & Elaine Teutsch of Rockledge, FL; her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carmen J. Gumino, and 2 sons Joseph, & James Gumino, 8 brothers Fred, Eddie, Jimmy, Robert, William, David, Richard, & Steve Teutsch. Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 from 4 to 7PM. A short funeral service will follow at 7:00pm and then cremation will follow. The family would like to invite everyone to come and celebrate Dorothy's life after the funeral service for dinner at the Newton Falls VFW 433 Arlington Rd, Newton Falls, OH 44444. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her sons Joseph & James Gumino in Newton Falls Cemetery.
