Dorothy M. Scott, 77 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Thursday August 19, 2010 at St. Joseph's Health Center. Dorothy was born in Bellaire, OH on June 13, 1933, the daughter of William & Stella (Daugherty) Newell. She moved to Newton Falls in 1972 from Bellaire. She was a former waitress and homemaker. Dorothy married Gerald C. Scott on July 20, 1972 and they recently celebrated 38 years of marriage. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton Falls and enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling. Memories of Dorothy will be carried on by her husband, Gerald Scott of Newton Falls, step-daughters, Barbara Smathers of Bellaire, Florence (Ed) King of Bellaire, Beatrice (James) Baker of Belmont, OH, step-son, Kermit Scott of Bellaire, sister, Alice Hanaski of Shadyside, OH, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held of Monday, August 23, 2010 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at James Funeral Home where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Rev. Calvin Mason will be officiating.
