Dottie Jo Henderson age 62 of Newton Falls, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday Feb. 15, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 23, 1954, in Youngstown, OH the daughter of the late Joseph Paul & Doris Jane (Edsall) Bockla. Dottie married the love of her life, Joseph T. (Teddy)Henderson Sr. on December 8, 1972. They were blessed to be married for 38 years before his passing on March 18, 2011. She had lived in Newton Falls for over 32 years, formerly of Lake Milton. She worked at Wal-Mart in Kent for 2 years, Oak Techinco in Ravenna for 8 years and enjoyed being a housewife. Dottie was a member of the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls, where she enjoyed teaching puppet ministry. She also enjoyed singing, playing with the grandchildren and volunteering at the church and library. Loving memories of Dottie will be carried on by her 1 daughter :Julie & David Lemon of Newton Falls, her 1 son: Joseph T. & Carmen Henderson Jr. of Newton Falls; her 2 sisters, Sandi Riel of Tacoma, WA,, Bonnie Smith of Boardman, OH, her 1 brother: Carl Bockla of Tacoma,WA,; and 7 granddaughters: Danielle Lemon, Dianna Lemon, Kira Hespenheide, Heidi Erickson, Emily Erickson, Alayna Billock, & Cara Henderson, 4 great grandchildren, her companion of 4 1/2 years William Gibson of Niles, OH and many nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her daughter, Jessica Erickson, and 1 sister: Viola Coffill. Funeral Services will be held at the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls on Monday Feb. 20, 2017 at 11:00am. Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Sunday Feb. 19, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Dottie will be laid to rest next to her husband Joseph in Newton Falls Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, all contributions may be made to either the General Assembly Church of God, 2021 East River Rd., Newton Falls, OH 44444 or Southern Care Hospice of Youngstown 5401 Ashley Circle Austintown, OH 44515 in memory of Joseph & Dottie Henderson.
