Edith Mae Moore, age 85, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, December 28, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 18, 1933 in North Lima, OH the daughter of the late Vernon Stanley Johnston and Margaret Irene (Mellinger) Johnston. Edith married the love of her life, Edward Bruce Moore on August 20, 1955 and they enjoyed 25 years of marriage together until he passed away on April 29, 1976. She is a lifelong resident of Newton Falls, and was employed at Hills Department Store in Champion for 12 years and she retired in 1992. Edith loved being a mother, raising her kids and grandkids, doing laundry, babysitting the great grandkids. She lived her life for her kids and grandchildren. Edith is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Edward, and 1 sister: Ruth Hager.

She is survived by: 2 daughters: Vicky L. Jones of Southington, OH, Denise & Gary Purdy of Newton Falls, 1 son: Craig A. Moore of Newton Falls, 1 sister: Dorcas Carson of Homosassa, FL, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Private family services were held. Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband Edward at Newton Falls Cemetery.
