Obituary

Edna Mae Cooper, age 80 of Braceville entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her home. Edna was born on July 11, 1936 in Newton Falls the daughter of the late Wayne & Virginia Almeta (Bailey) Conklin. Edna married Calvin Cooper on June 22, 1963. Edna and Calvin were blessed with 32 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on May 3, 1996. Edna was a graduate of Newton Falls High School and of Kent State University. She was a teacher in Okinawa, Japan for a year, a teacher in New Jersey, and then was employed in the Dietary Department at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Edna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Evening Arts Guild in Newton Falls where her mother was a charter member. Edna was the Ombudsman at Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls. Edna enjoyed genealogy, writing in her journal, gardening, sewing and playing cards. Loving memories of Edna will be carried on by her brother, Ernest (Tima) Conklin of Palm Springs, CA, niece Sara Conklin of New York City, NY and many cousins that loved her. Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44483. A Memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 am at the church. Edna will be laid to rest next to her husband Calvin at Duck Creek Cemetery in Newton Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the church in Edna's memory.
