Obituary

Edward Howard Brugmann of Windsor, OH age 95, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 3:08 AM at the University Hospital Geauga Medical Center from natural causes. On July 9, 1915 in Orwell, OH, Edwy Ferdinand & Mary Grace (Howard) Brugmann welcomed the birth of their son, Edward. Edward married the love of his life, Mildred Gertrude Gempel on December 24, 1941 and they enjoyed 69 years of blessed marriage together. He lived in the Windsor area most of his life working as a machinist for Lincoln Electric in Euclid for 22 years before he retired. Edward was a Veteran of the US Navy serving time on submarines during WWII and the Korean War. He was also a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church and the Hartsgrove Masonic Lodge. Edward loved spending time with his family and vacationing to Key West, FL during the winter months. Memories of Edward will be carried on by his loving family: his wife, Mildred of Windsor; his daughter Susan (Danny)Shelly of Bonita Springs, FL; his son Edward James (Judith Ann) Brugman of Hudson, OH; his brother Charles Brugmann of Pago Pago, his grandsons Marc (Hannah) Shelly of Fort Stewart, GA, Jeffrey Brugman of Windsor, OH, Karl Brugman, Jr. of Williamsfield, OH; his granddaughters Renee Arrington of Cape Coral, FL, and Cynthia (Tom) Rau of Geneva, IL, 2 Great Grandsons: Andrew Rau, Garrett Arrington, 2 Great Granddaughters Marissa Arrington, & Caroline Grace Rau. Edward is preceeded in death by his son Karl E. Brugmann, his sister Dorothy Mierke, and his brother Ernest Brugmann. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Windsor United Methodist Church in Windsor. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00a.m. at the church. The Rev. Jim Stanley will be officiating the service. Edward will be laid to rest at the Windsor Twp. Cemetery in Windsor, OH, where the Cortland VFW Honor Guard will hold a military service to honor Edward for his service to this great country.
