Edward Francis Drake, age 87 of Mentor, formerly of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at TriPoint Hospital in Concord. Edward was born on July 7, 1930 in Newton Falls the son of the late William & Mary (Sorociak) Drake. Edward has lived in Mentor for the past 6 months.

Edward married the former Kay R. Richards on October 20, 1956. Edward and Kay were blessed with 53 years of marriage before her passing on June 8, 2010. Edward was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the First Congregational Church in Newton Falls.

Edward retired from Rockwell International. After retirement he worked for Home Oil.

Loving memories of Edward will be carried on by his daughter Elaine (Richard) May of Mentor, daughter-in-law, Pamela Drake of Ravenna, grandchildren; Aaron (Jennifer) May, Adam (Christine) May, Jessica Drake and great grandchildren, Annabelle, Lillian, Bryson, Karter and Callie. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Kay, son Ronald Drake, sister Florence Confer and brother Walter Drake.

Per Edward's wishes, cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at James Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm. Edward will be laid to rest next to his wife Kay at Newton Falls Cemetery. The family has requested that contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
