Eileen Marie Arendt, age 95 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. Eileen was born on October 7, 1920 in Okawville, IL the daughter of the late Henry C. Ahlers and Martha (Vogel) Ahlers. Eileen married Harold Leroy Thompson in 1945 and they were blessed with 25 years of marriage before his passing Aug. 11, 1970. Eileen married her second husband, Robert G. Arendt in June 1985. Robert passed away on Dec 24, 1994 after 9 years of marriage. She has lived in Newton Falls, since 1952, formerly of Detroit, MI. Eileen worked at Packard Electric in Warren for 30 years retiring in 1980. She was a faithful member of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church for many years. Eileen loved gardening and knitting. Loving memories of Eileen will be carried on by her son and daughter in law, Larry & Charlotte Thompson of Braceville, her granddaughter and husband, Leslie & Sam Larson of Winter Park, FL, and 2 great grandchildren: Alexa & Dahlia Larson. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Harold & Robert, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and one grandson, Brian Thompson. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm.
