Elizabeth Marie Stewart, age 93 of Sandusky, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky from natural causes. She was born on April 27, 1919, in Redtown, Ohio the daughter of the late Alfred Andrew & Rosene (Mulpas) Houghton. Elizabeth married the love of her life, John Stewart on April 27, 1935 and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together. They were living in Pricetown then and in Sandusky before he passed away on February 13, 1987. She enjoyed knitting & fishing ,but most of all her family. Memories of Elizabeth will be carried on by her loving family; her son; Alfred Stewart of Ft. Meyers, FL, son & daughter-in-law John & (Nancy) Stewart of Sandusky; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sisters Jean Dalrymple, Leonora Geist, Althea Almashy and daughter-in -law Sandra Stewart. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 11:00am to 1:00 pm where the funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Ferguson officiating. Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her husband John in Newton Falls Cemetery.
