Elmer L. Clay age 80 of Braceville passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday Jan 10, 2025 at his residence.   He was born on June 21, 1944 in McConnelsville, OH the son of the late Leslie E. Clay and Wava C. (Roberts) Clay. Elmer has lived in Braceville for over 60 years, formerly of McConnelsville, OH.  He married the love of his life, Beverly A. Hodge in 1966 and they have enjoyed 46 years of marriage together until her death on Feb. 26, 2012.  Elmer worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Ravenna Arsenal for 28 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars, his dog Scrappy, his 2 birds. and most of all his family.  Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Beverly, 2 sons: Timathy, & Thomas Clay, 1 brother: Johnny Clay, and 2 sisters: Alice Curtis & Greta Robinson.

He is survived by: 1 son: Robert & Jessica Clay of Leavittsburg, 1 sister: Edna & Arthur Abrams of McConnelsville, OH, 2 brothers: Howard Clay of Athens Co, OH, Bernard Clay of McConnelsville, OH, 6 grandchildren: Bruce, Charles, Brandon, Aaron, Chanda, Teyha, and 4 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Beverly at Newton Falls Cemetery.
