Elsie Marie Kish, age 91, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday February 12, 2012 at 1:10 am. Elsie was born on June 3, 1920 in Hubbard, OH the daughter of the late Earl Shonce & Edna (Jewel) Shonce. Elsie married the love of her life, Alexander P. Kish on March 11, 1961 and they enjoyed 50 years of blessed marriage together. She had lived in Newton Falls since 1935, and she worked at Packard Electric and Mullens. Elsie was a charter member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Newton Falls where she belonged to the Lady's Guild. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary # 3332 and the Pythians Sisters. Elsie enjoyed gardening, traveling and shooting darts. Memories of Elsie will be carried on by her loving family; her husband, Alexander Kish of Newton Falls, her daughter & son-in-law Carol & Mike Gemik of Newton Falls; her sister & brother-in-law Irene & Paul Zeleny of Newton Falls; her brother & his companion Kenneth Shonce & Betsy Steadman of Vienna; her brother & sister-in-law William & Alice Shonce of Lordstown; her 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Joan Coleman; 3 sisters Hazel Brumbaugh, Edith Smith, Virginia Fortnot; 3 brothers Hank, Calvin & Richard Shonce. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Newton Falls on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 12:30 pm with Pastor Steve Ritter & her grandson, Pastor John Coleman officiating. Elsie will be laid to rest at the Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls.
