Ethel P. Blastic, age 92, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Ethel was born on Oct. 26, 1919 in Oil City, PA the daughter of the late William Joseph Place and Susan (Piper) Place. Ethel lived in Warren for most of her life, and then she moved to Florida when she married Lewis Blastic Sr. in 1965. Lewis passed away after 35 years of marriage in 2000. She was a faithful member of the Tod Ave. Methodist Church while she lived in Ohio. Ethel is survived by: 1 daughter Carolyn & Homer Johnston of Jacksonville, FL, , 1 step daughter Joy & Ron Renshaw of Sharon, PA, 1 step son Robert & Judy Blastic Jr. of Champion, OH, 1 brother Philip Hogue of Newton Falls, OH, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis and 1 sister Mary Elizabeth Phillips. Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday Jan. 12, 2012 at 11:00 am with calling hours one hour prior from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Rev. Calvin Mason will be officiating the service. Ethel will be laid to rest beside her husband Lewis at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren. The family has asked that all donations please be made to the American Lung Association or to the American Heart Association in memory of Ethel.
