Eugene "Gene" Leroy Henry, age 82 of Braceville Township passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 at The Windsor House in Champion. He was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1942; the son of the late Robert James and Doris Isabelle (Crosley) Henry.
A lifetime area resident, Gene graduated from Braceville High School in 1960. Following graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army and faithfully served our country until he was honorably discharged in 1966. Following his service in the Army, he went on to serve his community as a firefighter / EMT for the Braceville Township Fire Department, where he retired from there holding the rank of Assistant Chief. In 2003, he retired from General Motors in Lordstown after 30 plus years.
Gene was of Methodist faith and his favorite past times were going to auctions, feeding his birds, working for McGuire Auctions and spending time with his family and friends. On July 18, 1970, Gene married the love of his life, the former Patricia Meyer. Together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Gene is survived by his wife, Patricia, their two children; Susan (Jeffery) Kukuda of Newton Falls and Dr. Kevin (Christa) Henry of Apison, Tennessee; a sister, Rita (Rick) Spahlinger of Lake Milton, a brother, John (Martha) of West Chester, Ohio, his beloved Aunt Nina Loucks of Meadville, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; Cole, Cullen, Crosby and Cavanaugh Henry and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers; James and Charles Henry.
According to Gene's wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Braceville Cemetery.
