Frank Lee Karpenko, age 69, of Newton Falls, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 31, 1948, in Warren, OH the son of the late Frank Mark Karpenko & Ruth Elizabeth (Hurst) Karpenko. Frank married Terri Lynn Nesbitt on March 14, 1984 and they have enjoyed 33 years of blessed marriage together. Frank had lived in Newton Falls for over 25 years formerly of Champion. He was a "Jack of All Trades" working at General Motors, doing electrical work, building houses and working at a steel mill were just some of his trades. He was a member of the US Marines serving during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969 where he was injured and received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the VFW in Newton Falls. He enjoyed watching western movies, bowling, throwing darts, spending time with the grandkids, messing around in the garage, watching the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is survived by his wife Terri Karpenko of Newton Falls, his daughter Deanna Karpenko; his 3 sons Mark, Chad, Michael Karpenko all of Newton Falls; his 3 sisters Lissa & (Frank) Youmans, Patricia & (Donnie) Clayton all of Dunedin, FL, Lori & (John) Gianfalla of Tampa,FL; his brother David & (Lisa) Karpenko of Hurley, MS; 7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, 1 brother Anthony, and 1 sister Karen. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 6155 Rockside Road Suite 202 Independence, OH 44131 in memory of Frank L. Karpenko. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6 to 8PM. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 8PM at the funeral home.
