Frederic L Hyde Sr., age 84 of Ravenna entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center of natural causes. Frederic was born on October 12, 1933 in Geneva, Ohio, the son of the late William Henry & Katherine Sophia (Gillett) Hyde. Frederic married the love of his life, Lulu Belle Hoskins on November 27, 1956 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage together. He had lived in Ravenna since 2008 formerly of Newton Falls. Frederic worked as a brakeman for CSX for over 40 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the USMC serving during the Korean War. Frederic enjoyed reading, spending time with grandkids, betting on horses, and watching Westerns & old movies. Memories of Frederic will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Lulu Hyde of Ravenna; his 5 daughters Kathy & (Steven) Mollick of Newton Falls, Susan & (John) Sprankle of Niles, Mary & (Steve) Novak of Niles, Teresa &(Jay) Byrne of Vienna, Carol & (Edward) Morgan of Ravenna; his 3 sons Frederic Leroy & (Cheryl) Hyde Jr. of Grant, MI, Robert Hyde of Pierson, MI, Alan H. Hyde of Ravenna; his 1 sister Ruth Block of Grand Rapids, MI; his 1 brother William Hyde of Stewart, FL; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Frederic is preceeded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 6 sisters. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the James Funeral Home on May 19, 2018 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
