IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Mitchel
(Mike) Guinaugh
August 31, 1942 – March 29, 2014
Gary Mitchel (Mike) Guinaugh, 71 of Paris Twp. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday March 29, 2014 with his family by his side after a long illness. Mike was born in Warren, on August 31, 1942 the son of the late Edmond Daniel and Viola Marie (Bartholomew) Guinaugh. Newton Falls and Paris Township have been his home all his life. After graduating high school, Mike joined the Air Force and after his honorable discharge he married his loving wife Linda Kay Jagers on June 2, 1961. Mike started work at GM Lordstown in 1966 and was a very active committeeman for the auto workers union #1112. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many days in the woods and on the lakes perfecting his skills. Mike and his family were very active members of St. Michael's Church in Newton Falls and he was the caretaker for the church cemetery for many years. Mike was past president of the Holly Name Society. He was a coach for the Paris girls softball teams and in the spring you would find Mike preparing the softball field with his wife Linda's help which was usually on their anniversary. He was a great dancer and that is how he met Linda when he was 15 years old at a dance and she was 13. One of Mike's hobbies was looking for arrowheads, in fact he has the oldest arrowhead ever found and registered in Ohio. Mike had great pride in his Irish heritage and his greatest joy was spending time with his family whether it be working on projects, building and remodeling or at family get togethers. You can tell by the affectionate way his grandchildren refer to him as Poppy that he was a great family man. His memories will be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Linda Guinaugh of Paris Township: his daughter and her companion Teresa Louise McKenna and Rusty Stolba of Cortland, daughter, Elizabeth Guinaugh Coward of Ravenna, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tracy Guinaugh of Loxahatchee FL, grandchildren, Robert Joseph, Scott Michael, and Katherine Teletha Gintert, Courtney Anne Jordan, Megan Sarah, Nicholas Hill and Douglas Taylor Coward, Lindsay Kay Guinaugh, Michael Jonathan and Matthew Brady Guinaugh: sister, Karen Claude of Brea, CA and brother Regis N. Guinaugh of Warren and 8 great grandchildren with one more on the way. He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Guinaugh, three brothers David T., Edmond D., and Paul L. (PJ) Guinaugh.
