George F. Serotko, age 88 of Warren, formerly of Lordstown passed away peacefully into eternal rest on January 18, 2011 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren, Ohio . George was born on Jan. 27, 1922 in Newton Falls, the son of the late John and Mary (Zenuh) Serotko. George has lived in Warren since April 2009. George married the former Vivian Krugh on Feb. 16, 1986 and they enjoyed 24 wonderful years together. George worked as a carpenter for Republic Steel for 29 years before retiring in 1981. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. George was a member of the Braceville United Methodist Church, a life member of the American Legion Post 737 in Lake Milton, and a life member of the disabled American Veterans in Warren. George enjoyed golfing and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Mary Steel, Ann Musser, Betty Groves, Susie Serotko and 4 brothers, John, Dave, Joe, and Michael Serotko. Memories of George will be carried on by his loving family: his wife, Vivian Serotko of Lordstown; his daughters Frances Lash of Buford, GA, Caroline & husband Patrick Fox of Warren, Diane Serotko of Jupiter, FL, Mary & husband Frank Kovach of Chandler, AZ; his son George F. Serotko Jr. of Bayou Vista, TX; his step sons Gary & wife Trudy Krugh of Leavittsburgh, David Krugh of Youngstown; his step daughter Sharyn & husband Dick Wilms of Braceville; his sister, Mary Bisciglia of Austintown; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Per George's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private service held at a later date.
