Gladys K. Greathouse, age 92 of Union, OH formerly of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Gladys was born on February 29, 1924, a leap year baby, in Millfield, OH the daughter of the late Clarence & Elsie May (Tracy) Misner. Gladys has lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Union for the past 4 years. Gladys's first husband, Virgil D. Brooks, was killed in action in WWII in the Pacific. Gladys married Thomas "Wayne" Greathouse on September 14, 1946. Gladys and Wayne were blessed with 47 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on July 24, 1994. Gladys was a baptized child of God. Loving memories of Gladys will be carried on by her sons, Bob and Tom, her daughter, Elaine, her sister, Lillian, many many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, daughters, Jean & Peggy, son, Kerry, grandson, Tommy, brothers, Pearl & Charley and her sisters, Clara & Lucille. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at Palmyra West Cemetery where Gladys will be laid to rest next to her husband Wayne.
